November

I love November. It has always been my favorite month, and not just because it’s my birthday month, but because it is really when fall sets in. I am so happy to be living here in Southern Oregon because it is so beautiful. Cheesy, I know, but so true. I am always so overwhelmed whenever I take it in.

Anyway, the next two weeks are doing to be very eventful! My birthday, of course, is on Wednesday and the love of my life’s (AKA Andrew) birthday is on Friday. It’s always a nice celebration! I also have something very exiting to do tomorrow night as well!

Wednesday will be “date-night” for us. Not sure exatly where we are going to go but I’m sure whatever happens will be fun. Thursday will be a family/friends dinner at Habanero’s. And last but not least, Andrew’s birthday party Friday night at Lava Lanes.

I love November.

Also, the next day, Saturday, I will be leaving for my week long vacation. I’ll be spending Saturday though Wednesday at my Mom’s in Vancouver, WA then going to little ol’ Yelm, WA for Thanksgiving and visiting my family who I miss so dearly until Friday. I’ll come back home to my Mom’s, then back home to Medford on Sunday. Phew.

I. Love. November!

And did I mention how much I love my friends? I have the sweetest, most thoughtful, loving, caring friends in the world. What a lucky girl I am.

I hope everyone else has just a great November like I’m having.

:)

I’ve got some great things coming my way!

Might as well take the opportunities as they come.

I’ll keep you updated ;)

Great News!

We’re engaged!!!

Okay no, not really.

But anyway, I was at my friend’s, Nakesha, house and her mom is a real estate agent. A lady was at her house last night buying a house from her mom. We all sat down and started chit chatting about kids, like moms do, and some how my jewelry line came up. Nakesha ran into her room and grabbed three pairs of earrings that I had made for her. The house-buying lady fell in love with them! Her name is Amy, by the way.

Now get this, Amy sells Mary Kay. She is such a great sales lady that she won a pearl-pink Escalade with the Mary Kay emblem on the side. She instantly said, “Can I have your e-mail and your phone number? I love these! Let’s get together and have a holiday party and sell Mary Kay and your jewelry!” Oh. My. God. THIS IS HUGE.

She called this afternoon and we made an appointment to get together this Thursday with some samples from my line.

The holiday party will take place around the first of December. From now on, I will be spending all my free time putting together jewelry. If you have any design ideas, please send them my way!

Mary Kay; meet Epiphany.

Ignorance.

I posted this bulletin after seeing many negitive reactions from fellow “Christians” about Barack Obama being elected president.

Do not turn the other cheek. Be aware of what is going around in your generation, in your country, in your world.
This is an amazing historical time we are living in. Life is not fair, it can not go your way every single time.
I am proud to be an American at this point in time, no matter who our president. We should be PROUD.
Jesus never turned the other cheek towards people he did not agree with, in fact, those people are the reason why He became flesh, to be with us.
Yes, I voted for McCain, but you know what? I’m not going to DENY my new president. I may not agree with his policies, and I didn’t agree with everything McCain wanted either.
The fact is, Barack Obama is our president. There is nothing you can do about it now, so take it, embrace it, run with it. And PRAY.
God will protect us, He always has and always will.
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities,” wrote the apostle Paul. “For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God” (Romans 13:1).

These are the responses that I’ve recieved;

“amen.
I appreciate this statement.
I, too, voted for McCain but openly embrace our new president. Unfortunately I can feel our nation slowly deviding to it’s worst point ever. But God will take care of everyone just the same.”

“I agree entirely. Thank you for posting something smart, sensible, and mature! People give such bad reputations to conservatives and Im so sick of defending what I believe in when it comes to politics. I only hope that more young conservatives or moderates take this approach instead of getting angry and saying ignorant things.”

President Barack Obama

May you serve our country well, and may you walk the walk that you talked of for 22 months.

The whole world is watching.

Decision 08

I’ve been on welfare my whole entire life, up to the age of 19.

For almost 2 years I have been completely supporting myself without any government assistance. Under Obama’s tax plan, I very well face the reality and shame of going back onto welfare because as a single mother, I may make too much and I may be taxed more. I may have to get back on welfare, as many other people will and there may not be enough to go around.

This is one of the main reasons why I am voting for McCain.

I worked hard to get to where I am today, and I’ll be damned if anyone is going to take that away from me.

Do not “spread the wealth.”

If  I can break the cycle of poverty, anyone can.

Changeling

Last night I saw the new movie,  “Changeling” with my friend Lydia. It was two and a half hours long and I did not want it to end. And it didn’t hurt that Angelina Jolie is one of my favorite actresses.

After the movie, I went home and crawled into bed with my son and just held him. I cannot imagine anything happening to Gabriel. If I was too emotional for my own good, I wouldn’t be able to see movies like that.

Gabe is the light of my life. Without him, I wouldn’t be half the person I am today. It just really upsets me when I hear of stories and/or situations when all the mother does is think about herself. When you become a mother, it is not about you anymore. It is about your child, and your responsibility to take care of him/her and do everything in your power to make sure that things stay that way. This subject is near and dear to my heart. When I see mothers throwing away their lives for their own selfish reasons, I just can’t imagine how it’s even possible! (Sorry for my rambling.) My love for my son, my little angel, is so strong that I could never not think about him. The love is so overwhelming that when I think about how much I love my son, it brings tears to my eyes almost every time.

Anyway, the point is that the movie I saw last night showed a true love that a mother has for her son. That she would do anything and everything, even endure hellish pain, all for the sake of her son.

Why don’t all mothers feel that way?

Re: Andrew Rasmussen

It is my job to love, and God’s job to judge.

We are all created by the same God, He loves us all the same, no matter what. He calls us all by name, even the homeless, drug-addicted, pregnant teenager, or the guy sitting in church who doesn’t believe in God. The reason why God is so great is because we are all dirt-bag sinners saved by His wonderful grace and mercy. He forgives us the moment we ask, with arms wide open.

We all have our faults, our quirks, our imperfections. God loves us all the same.

I guess this isn’t really a reply to Andrew’s blog, but I just wanted to say something like this.

We should let other people know that we don’t agree with what they are doing, or how they are living their lives. That’s what we should do as friends, and on the receiving end, we shouldn’t lash out just because that friend is concerned and just wants to help. They’re your friend for a reason. Friends care. Friends love. Friends don’t judge.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 (NLT)

God bless and have a Happy Halloween! (is that an oxy moron?)
